What is the Grade Calculator
The Grade Calculator transforms the old rule-of-three test score into a complete digital report card. It was designed for students at all levels, from high school to college, through competitions and exchange exams, who need to quickly find out the percentage of correct answers, the final grade or how many questions are left to reach the average.
The tool has two modes of use. The first, the Test Report, transforms your number of correct answers into a score from 0 to 10, a percentage of success and even the concept of letters used in the United States (A to F), in addition to notifying you whether you are approved, recovered or failed. The second, Goals and Planning, helps those who are yet to take the test to discover how many correct answers are needed to achieve the desired score.
How to use the Grade Calculator
- In the Test Report tab, enter the number of correct answers, the total number of questions and the minimum average required by your school or course.
- See your grade automatically appear from 0 to 10, the percentage of correct answers, the concept in letters and the status (approved, recovery or disapproved).
- In the Goals and Planning tab, enter the total number of questions for the test or competition and the minimum score you need to achieve.
- See how many correct answers are needed to reach this goal and what your margin of error is, that is, how many questions you can still get wrong without losing approval.
Tip for tests with different weights
If your test has questions with different weights, use the total points instead of the number of questions: inform how many points you scored for correct answers and what is the maximum possible score for the test. The calculator calculates the same percentage and grade regardless of whether it is dealing with the number of questions or points, so the result remains correct in this scenario.
