Currency Converter is a free online tool that converts real, dollar, euro, pound sterling, Argentine peso and bitcoin using quotes fetched in real time, directly in your browser.
What is it
Whether you want to calculate the price of an international purchase, plan a trip abroad, monitor the exchange rate before investing or simply find out how much the dollar is worth today, this tool searches for the most recent quote on a public exchange rate API and makes the conversion instantly, without you needing to open several tabs or do the math by hand.
As soon as the page loads, the tool downloads the prices of the dollar, euro, pound, Argentine peso and bitcoin in relation to the real. The exact time the quote was sought appears on the screen, so you know how old that number is. As the exchange rate changes all the time, the value shown is always a market reference, close to reality, but subject to small variations.
How to use
- Choose the source currency (what you have) and the destination currency (what you want to know).
- Enter the value in either of the two boxes: the conversion is done in both directions, so it doesn't matter if you type in the left or right box.
- Use the invert button in the middle of the boxes to quickly exchange the source currency for the destination currency.
- Check the base quote shown below, which shows how much one unit of the source currency is worth in the destination currency.
- Refresh the page if you want to search for a more recent quote.
Reference quote, not actual operation
The value shown here is a market estimate and does not include fees charged by banks and brokers, such as spread and IOF. In practice, an international purchase or a real exchange transaction tends to be a little more expensive than the quote displayed in the tool. Therefore, use the result as a reference for planning, and not as the final value of a financial transaction. If the quote does not load due to instability in the connection with the API, the tool displays a warning and allows you to try to search again with one click.
