What is it
The Join and Split PDF tool solves two essential tasks with documents: join several PDFs into one or separate a long PDF into specific pages or sections, all in a few clicks and without having to install any program on your computer.
The big difference with this tool is the care taken with the privacy of your files. Most PDF sites on the internet work by sending your document to an unknown server, where it is processed and then returned to you. As PDFs usually store contracts, invoices, invoices and other sensitive data from a company or person, sending them is an unnecessary risk. Therefore, this tool processes everything directly in your browser, using only your own computer's processor. No files are uploaded to the internet at any stage, which guarantees more privacy and also makes the process faster, as it does not depend on the upload speed of your connection.
How to use
The tool is divided into two modes, chosen at the top of the screen:
- Join Table: select two or more PDF files from your device. They appear as cards in a list, and you can use the up and down arrows on each card to reorder the documents before clicking "Stap & Join." You need at least two files to generate the final PDF.
- Split Scalpel: send a single PDF and choose between splitting the file completely (each page becomes a separate PDF) or extracting a specific section, entering the desired pages, such as "5-10", to generate a single file with just that section.
In both modes, after processing the tool shows the size of each generated file and a download button for each one.
Golden Tips
- In Scalpel mode, you can combine single pages and ranges in the same extraction by typing something like
1-5, 8, 12, which joins pages 1 to 5, plus page 8 and page 12 into a single file. - Before splitting, the tool shows how many pages the sent PDF has, which helps you plan the right range without having to open the file in another program.
- Password-protected PDFs may not be processed correctly. If your file is protected, remove the password before sending to join or split.
- Files with hundreds of pages or many megabytes may take a few seconds to process, as the work is done by your own computer's processor, not by external servers.
- This tool is the best friend of HR, accounting and lawyers: combine payslips, combine attachments to a process or separate pages from an extensive contract without needing any paid program.
