What is it
WhatsApp Link Generator is a free tool that creates a direct link, in wa.me format, to open a conversation on WhatsApp with your number, without the person having to save your contact first. Just share the link: whoever clicks goes straight to the app, or to WhatsApp Web on the computer, with the conversation already open.
The tool also allows you to leave an example message ready, which appears already written in the text box when the person opens the conversation. She can edit or delete this message before sending, so it works like a ready-made invitation to start chatting, not a mandatory sticky text.
In addition to the link, the tool instantly generates a corresponding QR Code, useful for placing on business cards, menus, shop windows and flyers: whoever points the cell phone camera falls straight into the conversation.
It is widely used by those who sell online, provide customer service, support or simply want to facilitate the first contact via WhatsApp, instead of asking the customer to type or save a number by heart.
How to use
Generating your link takes less than a minute:
- Check the DDI, the country code, which is already filled with 55 (Brazil) and can be changed if you serve customers from another country.
- Enter the number with the area code, just the telephone number, without repeating the country code. You don't need to worry about spaces, parentheses or the plus sign: the tool automatically cleans everything and assembles the right link.
- Write an example message, optionally, such as "Hello! I came via the website and would like more information." This text is just a suggestion that appears ready in the conversation, and the person can edit it before sending.
- Copy the link generated or click "Test" to open the conversation and check if everything is ok.
- Use the QR Code image that appears next to the link: tap and hold on your cell phone, or right-click on your computer, to save and use in printed materials.
Ready. Every time someone clicks on the link or scans the QR Code, the conversation opens with your number and, if you filled it in, with the example message in the text field.
Tips
- Enter the number with the area code, without the initial zero, in the telephone field. The DDI, the country code, is in a separate field on the side.
- Leave the example message short and clear, as an invitation for the person to continue the conversation.
- Test the link on your own cell phone before publishing it by clicking "Test" to ensure it opens the right conversation.
- Create different links for each channel, one for Instagram and one for the website, each with a different example message. This way you understand where each contact came from.
