What it is
The HEIC to PNG Converter is a free online tool that turns HEIC files into PNG without installing anything and without uploading your image anywhere.
HEIC is the format an iPhone uses by default, and PNG is the one that almost every program on earth can open. The difference from converting to JPG is that PNG is lossless: it keeps every pixel exactly as it was, and it keeps transparency if the image has any.
How to use it
- Add your file, by dragging it in or picking it from your device.
- Wait for the conversion, which finishes in a moment.
- Download the PNG, ready to use.
You can convert several files in the same session, one after another.
Your file never leaves your device
This is the part worth reading twice. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser, using the image engine your browser already has. Your file is not uploaded to a server, not stored, and not seen by anyone.
That matters more than it sounds. Photos carry metadata: the model of the camera, the date, and often the exact GPS coordinates where the picture was taken. Sending a personal photo to a conversion site means handing all of that to a stranger. Here there is nothing to hand over, because nothing is sent.
It also means there is no queue, no daily limit, and no account. The only ceiling is your own device: a very large file on an old phone may take a few seconds.
What to expect from the result
Because nothing is thrown away, a PNG is usually much heavier than the HEIC it came from, and heavier than the same photo as a JPG. Pick PNG when quality matters more than file size, such as editing, printing or screenshots with text.
Need something else? Try the image compressor to make a file lighter without changing its format, or the image resizer to change its dimensions.
