What is it
Online Metronome is a free tool that marks the time of a song in beats per minute (BPM), working directly in your computer or cell phone browser. It produces a precise and regular click using the browser's own audio technology (Web Audio API), which guarantees constant progress, without delays and without depending on physical devices.
A metronome helps you practice rhythm, keep the tempo stable and avoid speeding up or slowing down without realizing it while studying. It is widely used by musicians of any instrument (guitar, keyboard, drums, guitar, bass, singing) and also by teachers and students who are learning to play in the right time. In addition to the adjustable BPM, the tool allows you to mark the beat, that is, highlight the first beat of each cycle (for example, a group of 4 beats), which helps you feel where each part of the song begins.
As it is online and requires no installation, you can open and use it instantly, without registering and without paying anything.
How to use
Follow these simple steps:
- Set the BPM: choose the speed in beats per minute. Low values (60 to 80) are used to study slowly; higher values increase the tempo.
- Adjust the tempo: select how many beats form each cycle to highlight the first beat.
- Start the metronome: tap start and hear the regular click marking the time.
- Play along: follow the click with your instrument, trying to keep each note aligned to the beat.
- Increase gradually: when you are comfortable, increase the BPM in small steps to gain speed with control.
Tips
- Start slowly. It's better to play right at a low tempo than fast and sloppy.
- Activate the device's sound and, on your cell phone, take it out of silent mode to hear the click.
- Use headphones in noisy environments so you don't miss the beat.
- Leave the tab open while practicing, as all audio is generated in the browser itself.
With constant practice and support from the metronome, your sense of rhythm improves and your performance becomes much firmer and safer.
