What is it
QR Code Generator is a free online tool that turns any text, link, email or phone number into a ready-to-use QR Code. QR Code (the acronym comes from "Quick Response") is that little square full of black and white dots that the cell phone camera can read in seconds. When someone points their cell phone at the code, the device opens the link, shows the text or recognizes the contact automatically, without having to type anything.
With this tool you create the code your way: choose the size of the image and the error correction level (which helps the code remain readable even if it gets a little dirty, scratched or printed small). At the end, just download the result in PNG, an image format that you can print, place on a poster, on the menu, on product packaging, in the store window or share on social media.
An important point: everything is generated entirely in your browser. This means speed, no registration and no watermark over the code, no need to create an account even to download in PNG.
How to use
Creating your QR Code takes less than a minute. Just follow these steps:
- Choose content: type or paste what you want to transform into code, such as a website address, a short text, an email or a telephone number.
- Adjust the size: select a larger dimension if the code will be printed large (poster, banner) or smaller to use on screens and documents.
- Set error correction: higher levels make the code more resistant to printing and reading failures, ideal for physical use.
- Download in PNG: click to save the image on your device and use it wherever you want.
Before publishing, do a quick test: point your own cell phone's camera to check if the code opens the right content.
Tips
- For printed material, the minimum recommended size is around 2 x 2 cm, otherwise the camera may have difficulty focusing on the points.
- Avoid reducing the code too much: very small points make it difficult to read.
- Keep a white border around the QR Code so the camera can recognize it easily.
- If the link changes in the future, a new code will need to be generated, as the image stores the address at the time it was created.
- Prefer short links: they generate simpler and easier to scan codes.
