Separate PDF

Extract specific pages or split a large PDF document into smaller parts.

Split PDF

Extract only the pages you need from a document

Upload your PDF file

The operation runs in the browser to guarantee full privacy.

Tip: use commas to separate and hyphens for ranges (e.g. 1-3, 5, 8 extracts pages 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8).

What it is

The PDF Splitter pulls pages out of a PDF: a single page, a range, or several ranges saved as separate files. It runs in your browser, with no software to install and nothing uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Add the PDF.
  2. Choose the pages. A single number for one page, a range like 3-7 for a stretch, or several ranges to produce several files.
  3. Download the result.

When you need this

The recurring case is a document where only part of it should be shared. A bank statement where a form asks for one month. A contract where the other side needs the signature page. A scanned bundle that arrived as one file and should be several. A report where only the appendix matters to a colleague.

There is also the reverse of a merge gone wrong: separating pages that were joined in the wrong order so they can be put back together correctly.

Sharing less is the point

Splitting is usually about not sending the rest. A statement holds every transaction of the month; a medical file holds a full history; a contract holds terms that were never meant for a third party. Extracting the page that was actually requested is the difference between answering a request and oversharing.

Which is why it matters that this runs entirely inside your browser. The document is never uploaded, never stored and never seen by anyone else. A service that receives your file to split it has, for a moment at least, the whole document, including the pages you were trying not to share.

To join files instead of splitting them, use the PDF merger.

Frequently asked questions

Can I extract several ranges at once?

Yes. Give more than one range and each becomes its own file, which is the quick way to break a scanned bundle back into the separate documents it should have been.

Is my document uploaded to a server?

No. The split runs inside your browser and the file never leaves your device. That matters especially here, since splitting is usually about not sharing the rest of the document.

Does the extracted file keep the original quality?

Yes. The pages are copied as they are, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

An encrypted file has to be unlocked before it can be read. Open it with the password in a PDF reader, save an unprotected copy, and split that.
