What is it
Sound, Microphone and Webcam Test is a free online tool that helps you check, in just a few seconds, whether the audio, microphone and camera on your computer or cell phone are working as they should. It brings together three simple tests in one place: it plays a sound to check the speakers (left channel and right channel), shows the level captured by the microphone in a bar that moves as you speak and displays the live preview of your webcam.
It's the ideal solution for those who are going to join a meeting on Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, record a class, do an online job interview or participate in an important video call and don't want to find out right away that the sound isn't coming out or that the camera is frozen.
Your privacy comes first: all testing takes place within the browser itself, on your device. The tool only shows the image preview and the sound level locally, for you to check. Nothing is recorded and nothing is sent to servers or the internet. When you close the page, access to the camera and microphone ends.
How to use
Follow the steps to test each device:
- Test the speakers: click the play sound button. You will hear audio on the left side and then on the right. If you hear both sides clearly, your speakers or headphones are working.
- Test the microphone: allow access when the browser requests it and speak in a normal tone. The level bar should move up and down with your voice. If it doesn't move, check if you've chosen the right microphone.
- Test the webcam: authorize the use of the camera and observe the preview on the screen. The image should appear clear and without stuttering.
If the browser asks for permission, click Allow. Without this, the microphone and webcam cannot be accessed.
Tips
- Use headphones to better separate the left and right channels in the sound test.
- If a device is unresponsive, close other programs (such as Zoom or Teams) that may be using the camera or microphone at the same time.
- In case of blocking, review the site's permissions using the padlock in the browser's address bar.
- Choose a connection and a well-lit environment to evaluate the real quality of the webcam image.
