What is the Discount and Addition Calculator?
The Discount and Markup Calculator is the ultimate Toolkit for everyday business use. If you're a retailer pricing products, or a Black Friday consumer trying to understand whether a promotion is worth it, this tool saves you from the dreaded "rule of three".
We have designed three specific usage modes:
1. Apply Discount (-)
The classic way. You enter the full price of the product and how many % discount the store promised. We generate the "Promotional Label", showing the original cut price (e.g. R$ 150.00), the new price to be paid, and we reveal exactly how many Reais you saved on this purchase.
2. Addition / Tip / Fee (+)
A great advantage of our tool is that it also allows reverse calculation to increase a value. Ideal for use in restaurants (calculate the 10% for the waiter), for merchants (pass the 5% fee for the credit card machine) or calculate small interest on a late payment slip.
3. Discover the Discount (?)
It happens frequently on Black Friday: the store doesn't say the percentage of the discount, it just announces "From R$200.00 for R$150.00". When using the Discover mode, you just need to enter the two values in reais, and the calculator automatically deduces that that store applied a 25% discount on the product.
(It also works for additions: if your electricity bill was R$100 and came to R$120, the system will show that you suffered a 20% increase in the month).
How to use the Discount Calculator
Choose the tab according to what you need to calculate:
- Apply Discount: enter the original price and the discount percentage to see the final price and how much you save.
- Additional / Tip / Fee: enter the base value and the percentage to be added to see the final value with the increase.
- Discover the Discount: enter the original price and the final price paid for the calculator to reveal the percentage of discount or increase applied.
The result appears instantly, along with a summary ready to copy and share.
